Why
did you make the investment to go to Guatemala?
I
didn't make the investment myself to go to Guatemala. An
anonymous person(s) covered my cost/way to Guatemala which
I will forever be thankful for.
What
aspect of the trip impacted you the most?
The thing that impacted me the most on this trip was prayer.
Before I went to Guatemala I prayed everyday, for health,
friends needs, school, the normal stuff. Prayer wasn't a
huge thing to me, it didn't really hit me as really important.
When I came back from Guatemala it/I was completely different.
The people in the villages like our group discussed weren't
just praying, they were pleading, begging out to God for
him to help them. They actually were praying about stuff
they NEEDED. The one guy I heard above all the villagers
really touched me. I had no idea what he was saying but
you could just feel the power, the sadness, the grief, the
longingness in his prayer. Also what Bob said. WHO'S BETTER
OFF? My answer: they are. We went to help them but really
they helped us. These people have a love for God that I've
NEVER seen before. They love everybody they meet, and truly
care about people. These people have forever touched my
life, and honestly changed me.
How
did God reveal himself to you while you were there?
God
revealed himself in many ways. Mostly through the prayer
and the lovingness of the people there. Through him I got
over many uncertainties, complaints, and fears on this trip.
